Troy Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu’s (BJJ), is a martial art that focuses heavily on ground fighting, self-protection and applying takedowns throws, chokeholds, joint locks, and sweeps to defeat an opponent. Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is a Brazilian martial art that evolved from traditional jiu-jitsu in Japan and judo.
Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, also known as BJJ, is a proven martial arts and self-defense method. Members of the Army and Navy Seals, FBI and other law enforcement agencies all practice Jiu-Jitsu. Guardian’s students begin by learning the most reliable techniques of BJJ. BJJ doesn’t require students to memorize forms or katas like traditional martial artists. However, BJJ encourages discipline and respect. All levels are welcome to take Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu classes. It is possible to gain a background or experience in martial arts, but no prior experience is required.

ADULT JIU-JITSU PROGRAMS
This class is open for all adult/jr student (13 years and older) who are interested in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. The students will be taught a variety of BJJ techniques, from the fundamentals to the advanced. By mixing belts, beginner students are able to train hands-on with advanced students. In turn, advanced students get training partners who can help them improve their fundamentals and develop new, more advanced techniques.
Our Jiu-jitsu classes have a core component: Classes include some of our “seasoned novice students”. Some of these students are partnered with the most experienced and patient BJJ practitioners. This will give each student a wide variety of skills, which we can use to increase their confidence. It is also possible to sharpen the skills and abilities of more advanced practitioners by mixing partners. Full sparring can be encouraged, but is not necessary.
The class structure includes a warmup and conditioning, techniques lessons, partner training application, sparring, and a practice of their overall Jiu-jitsu technique.
SUBMISSION GRAPPLING (NO GI)
Submission Grappling is a term that describes aspects of martial arts and combat sports that are based on clinch or ground fighting in the pursuit of a submission. It brings together techniques from Freestyle Wrestling, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Folk American Wrestling (catch-as-catch-can), Sambo, and Judo. Submission Grappling is an excellent way to learn self defense and to stay in shape. You do not require any previous martial arts experience.
KID’S JIU-JITSU PROGRAM
Troy Kid’s Jiu-jitsu Training will give your child immeasurable benefits. Our unique Kid’s Jiu-jitsu Program is for children from 6 to 12. It helps them develop self-defense skills. Jiu-jitsu not only serves self-defense but has been shown to also provide self-protection.
The Kid’s Jiujitsu class challenges children to use their bodies and minds, building dexterity as well as motor skills. Your children will learn Jiujitsu basics and its concepts in detail. This will prepare them for self defense and when it is time for them to join the JR Jiu-Jitsu class.
Jiujitsu is not just for self-defense. It also brings balance to the mind and body that will help your child grow in self-esteem. Our society is constantly changing and we are exposed to anxiety, stress, peer pressure, and anxiety at a rapid rate. Adults and children alike need to learn how relax.
Brazilian Jiu Jitsu provides kids with the confidence to succeed in today’s rapidly changing world. It’s a fun way for children to get out of their heads through structured martial art training. It’s based on individual progress and will help children gain their confidence. They will learn new skills/techniques as they try. The application with a partner is a great way to learn the fundamentals of Jiu-jitsu.
