Mix Martial Arts (MMA) Training Program in Short Hills, OH

Our Mixed Martial Arts regimen trains students the fundamentals of different martial arts disciplines. MMA is a difficult yet exciting full-contact sport that carries out a mix of strategies from Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Wrestling, Muay Thai, and Boxing.

ADULT JIU-JITSU PROGRAMS

All adult/jr students aged 13 and older are welcome to this class. The course will teach students a variety fundamental and advanced BJJ training techniques. By mixing belts, beginner students are able to train hands-on with advanced students. In turn, advanced students get training partners who can help them improve their fundamentals and develop new, more advanced techniques.

Our Jiu-jitsu classes have a core component: Classes include some of our “seasoned novice students”. These students work with our most patient, gifted, and experienced BJJ professionals. These partners will offer a broad range skills which can be used to build confidence in students. It is also possible to sharpen the skills and abilities of more advanced practitioners by mixing partners. Full sparring can be encouraged, but is not necessary.

The class structure consists of a warm-up, conditioning, lessons, technique, partner training application and sparring to improve their overall jiu jitsu skills.

SUBMISSION GRAPPLING

Submission Grappling, a general term for combat arts or martial arts that focus on ground and clinch fighting with the aim to achieve a submission, is one of many terms used. It brings together techniques from Freestyle Wrestling, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Folk American Wrestling (catch-as-catch-can), Sambo, and Judo. Submission Grappling is a fun and effective way to improve self-defense. You do not require any previous martial arts experience.

KID’S JIU-JITSU PROGRAM

Short Hills Kid’s Jiu-jitsu Training will give your child immeasurable benefits. To help children develop their self-defense skills, we offer a unique child’s jiujitsu program. Jiujitsu is great not only for self defense but also as a proven way to protect yourself.

The Kid’s Jiujitsu class challenges children to use their bodies and minds, building dexterity as well as motor skills. Your children will learn Jiujitsu concepts and fundamentals. They will also be able to practice self-defense when they are ready to move on to the JR and adult Jiu Jitsu classes.

Jiu-jitsu goes beyond self-defense. It brings balance to the mind, body and spirit, which will help your child build self-esteem. The pace of modern society means that anxiety, stress, and peer pressure are everywhere. Adults also need to learn relaxation techniques, and children must develop the ability to focus, self-control and discipline.

Brazilian Jiu-jitsu gives kids the confidence to adapt to our ever-changing environment. It’s a fun way for children to get out of their heads through structured martial art training. The emphasis on individual progress will help build their confidence and allow them to learn new skills. Lesson training is done with a partner. They also spar to improve their Jiu-jitsu skills.
