Mix Martial Arts (MMA) Program in Oak Ridge, Ohio

Our Mixed Martial Arts training program teaches trainees the basics of numerous martial arts disciplines. Mixed martial arts is a difficult yet exciting full-contact sport that carries out a combination of methods from Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Wrestling, Muay Thai, and Boxing.

ADULT JIU-JITSU PROGRAMS

All adult/jr students aged 13 and older are welcome to this class. The students will be taught a variety of BJJ techniques, from the fundamentals to the advanced. Beginner students can train with advanced students, while advanced students have the opportunity to learn from the basics. Advanced students also get the chance to work with advanced students, who in turn gain the ability to refine their skills and try out new techniques.

Our Jiu-jitsu classes have a core component: Classes include some of our “seasoned novice students”. They are paired with some of our most patient, skilled and experienced BJJ practitioners. This will give each student a wide variety of skills, which we can use to increase their confidence. The ability to mix partners allows for advanced practitioners to improve their skills. Full sparring is encouraged, but not required.

The class structure revolves around a warmup and conditioning and lessons in technique, application to partner training and sparring to continue practicing their overall jiujitsu methods.

SUBMISSION GRAPPLING

Submission Grappling is a term that describes aspects of martial arts and combat sports that are based on clinch or ground fighting in the pursuit of a submission. It brings together techniques from Freestyle Wrestling, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Folk American Wrestling (catch-as-catch-can), Sambo, and Judo. Submission Grappling can be a great way of learning self-defense as well as a fun way keep in shape. You do not need any prior martial arts experience.

KID’S JIU-JITSU PROGRAM

Oak Ridge Kid’s Juu-jitsu is a great way to help your child develop life skills and get in the best shape of their lives. Children ages 6-12 can learn self-defense skills through our unique kid’s Jiujitsu program. Jiu-jitsu can be used for self-defense, but it has also been proven to be a method of self protection.

The Kid’s Jiujitsu class challenges children to use their bodies and minds, building dexterity as well as motor skills. Your children will learn Jiujitsu principles and concepts. These concepts will help them prepare for self-defense and when it’s time to join the JR Jiu Jitsu class.

Jiujitsu is not just for self-defense. It also brings balance to the mind and body that will help your child grow in self-esteem. Our society is changing at such a rapid pace that stress, anxiety and peer pressure are all around. Adults need to learn to relax, while children need to be able to control their emotions, manage their time, stay focused, and maintain a good sense of self.

Brazilian Jiu Jitsu provides kids with the confidence to succeed in today’s rapidly changing world. Children love it, and they can let off steam with structured martial arts training. This is a method that encourages individual growth. It will also help them gain confidence as they work to improve their skills. Lesson training is done with a partner. They also spar to improve their Jiu-jitsu skills.
