Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu or BJJ is a tried-and-true martial art. It’s also a proven method for self-defense. The Army, Navy Seals (FBI), FBI, and local police all train in Jiu-Jitsu. Guardian students start by learning the most trusted techniques BJJ offers. BJJ does not require you to memorize katas or forms like traditional martial art, but it does teach discipline and respect. All levels are welcome to take Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu classes. It is possible to gain a background or experience in martial arts, but no prior experience is required.

ADULT JIU-JITSU PROGRAMS
This class is open for all adult/jr student (13 years and older) who are interested in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. The students will be taught a variety of BJJ techniques, from the fundamentals to the advanced. Combining belts with beginners allows them to share their knowledge and experience with more advanced students.
Classes are made up of some of our most experienced novice Jiujitsu students. These students work with our most patient, gifted, and experienced BJJ professionals. This will give each student a wide variety of skills, which we can use to increase their confidence. You can also sharpen your skills by mixing with other practitioners. Full sparring can be encouraged, but is not necessary.
The class structure consists of a warm-up, conditioning, lessons, technique, partner training application and sparring to improve their overall jiu jitsu skills.
SUBMISSION GRAPPLING (NO GI)
Submission Grappling can be described as a combination of combat sports or martial arts that emphasize ground fighting and clinch fighting in order to obtain a submission. It brings together techniques from Freestyle Wrestling, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Folk American Wrestling (catch-as-catch-can), Sambo, and Judo. Submission Grappling is an excellent way to learn self defense and to stay in shape. You do not need any prior martial arts experience.
KID’S JIU-JITSU PROGRAM
Our Irvington Kid’s Jiujitsu training will provide you with immeasurable benefits. Children ages 6-12 can learn self-defense skills through our unique kid’s Jiujitsu program. Jiujitsu is great not only for self defense but also as a proven way to protect yourself.
Kid’s Jiujitsu encourages children to use their brains and bodies to build dexterity, motor skills and coordination. Your children will learn Jiujitsu principles and concepts. These concepts will help them prepare for self-defense and when it’s time to join the JR Jiu Jitsu class.
Jiujitsu offers more than self defense. It promotes harmony in the mind, body, spirit and will help your child increase self-esteem. Our society is changing at such a rapid pace that stress, anxiety and peer pressure are all around. Adults need to learn to relax, while children need to be able to control their emotions, manage their time, stay focused, and maintain a good sense of self.
Brazilian Jiu Jitsu provides kids with the confidence to succeed in today’s rapidly changing world. It’s a fun way for children to get out of their heads through structured martial art training. It’s based on individual progress and will help children gain their confidence. They will learn new skills/techniques as they try. It is important to emphasize the importance of lesson training.
