Byron Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is a martial arts program that emphasizes ground fighting and self-protection. It also teaches how to apply takedowns and throws, joint locks and chokeholds in order to defeat your opponent. Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, which was originally developed in Brazil, traces its roots to traditional Japanese jiu-jitsu as well as the Japanese martial art of Judo.
Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is a proven martial art and method of self-defense. It has been used by the Army, Navy Seals and FBI as well as local law enforcement agencies. Guardian students learn the most reliable techniques BJJ can offer. There are no forms or katas to memorize in BJJ, unlike traditional martial arts. However, BJJ is a discipline that teaches respect and discipline, just like other martial arts disciplines. Brazilian Jiu Jitsu classes cater to all levels. While a background in martial art can be helpful, it is not necessary to have any prior experience.
